I’m ABSOLUTELY blown away. Mistress Pieces is one of the most honest, rawest, bravest, wildest, beautiful, heart-wrenching, powerful, truly poetic and exquisitely written books I can remember reading. It took hold of me, drew me in, sent shockwaves through me, wouldn’t let me go. It’s incredibly powerful writing and like reading one long book of stunning poetry - I started to underline beautiful sentences but gave up as there are too many and the whole book is a thing of raw, unique beauty. The way Jen Hyatt plays with language, her voice, the descent into madness and what is madness, love in all its forms, lust, sex, families, passion, addiction, survival - it is all there and she shows it all so strikingly and so honestly. I thank her for sharing her words, her madness, her life journey, her beautiful wisdom. I will read it again and refer to it always. She’s a genius.
