Acclaimed Editor Gillian Stern joins the Fingerprint Team

We’re delighted to welcome Gillian Stern to the Fingerprint Editions’ Team.

With 25 years’ experience as a freelance structural and developmental editor of fiction and non-fiction, and a bestselling ghostwriter, Gillian brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to nurturing fresh literary voices.

During her third maternity leave – she was at the time, a Commissiong Editor in academic publishing - Gillian went in a day a week to read the slush pile for a leading literary agency. It was there that she discovered, and worked on, a manuscript that went on to win several prizes.

From there, she built a formidable freelance career, with a particular commitment to helping debut novelists bring their stories to life. She was a judge on the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize for ten years and last year, a judge for the Nero Book Awards First Novel category.
